Moorends - Children's Play Area

We are appealing for information following an incident at the Moorends recreational ground where a children's play area was deliberately set on fire.

This reckless act has caused significant damage to a space used and enjoyed by local families.

Two individuals were arrested at the time in connection with the incident and have since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

We understand the concern this will cause within the community. 

Officers are carrying out a full investigation, and we are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information, CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

The incident occurred on 2nd May 2026 at around 4.30am.
